Dear Parents / Caregivers,

We are back to school!

Last week we celebrated in reopening the gates and welcoming back the majority of our students. It has been a great reunion for our school community with everyone following the guidelines as expected.

Staff News:

Annalyse Pearse has been released to start her maternity leave with the impending birth of her first child. Therefore, I would like to introduce Zoe Fletcher as her replacement. Zoe and her family hail from Carterton and have made the move North to Taupo. Zoe is part of the Orakei Korako Waka and is also a whanau teacher.

Mr Alistair Lockley has resigned from Reporoa College and he will be making the move to Nae Nae College after Queens Birthday weekend. His replacement, Diane Brown has al-ready begun teaching the Year 7 & 8 Science classes. Diane has a passion for teaching Junior Science and hails from Rotorua.

We are also having a change of Nga Rangatira who are our waka leaders. Val Gallacher has taken over from Karen Merriman for Nga Awa Purua, Deb Wall will be taking over from

Annabell Lane for Paeroa. I wish to thank both Karen and Annabell for going above and

beyond in this both positions. Sharon Mulingani will continue on with being leader of Orakei Korako.

We would also like to advise that the school calendar has been reset. Over the next week or so we will be making decisions over the traditional annual events such as cross coun-try, senior ball, spirit days and so forth. Our intention is to run as many of these events as possible.

If you have received a device from either the school or the Ministry we would appreciate these being returned to the school office at your earliest convenience.

We will endeavour to keep you well informed with any developments or changes as they come to hand.

Have a great week and stay safe,

Brendan Carroll
